Today (11 November 2024) , a transformative yoga practice session was organized at MITC for the BEd 2024-2026 batch, aiming to introduce students to both the theoretical and practical aspects of yoga for overall well-being. The session was conducted by our esteemed resource person, Mrs.Rinsha K.A. who holds a master’s degree in Psychology and is currently pursuing a master’s in Yoga at Guruvayurappan College, Kozhikode. She also brings a unique personal connection to the college as the spouse of our Physical Education faculty member, Mohammed Prince.

The program was divided into two segments, beginning with a theoretical session held in the Multipurpose Hall during the morning. [Name] eloquently explained the fundamental principles of yoga, emphasizing its mental and physical benefits, and how it can support students’ holistic well-being. She also discussed the psychological aspects of yoga, linking the practice to stress management, focus enhancement, and emotional regulation—valuable skills for aspiring educators.

In the afternoon, students gathered at the Centre Square of MITC for a hands-on practice session. Here, [Name] guided the students through various yoga postures and breathing techniques, demonstrating how these exercises could be integrated into daily routines to foster both mental and physical resilience. Her expertise and calm, engaging approach made the session accessible to all, even those who were new to yoga.

Overall, the session was well-received, with students expressing gratitude for this practical approach to well-being and mindfulness. The integration of psychological insights with yoga practices left a lasting impact, offering the students valuable tools for both personal and professional growth.
