The Maunathul Islam Training College, in collaboration with The Rakshin Project by Sakshi, successfully organized an insightful workshop focused on the POCSO Act, 2012 and Gender Equality. The event was held on 25th April 2026 at 7:30 PM, aiming to sensitize students and faculty members about critical legal frameworks and social responsibilities regarding child protection and gender dynamics.
The program commenced on a solemn note with a prayer, seeking a peaceful and productive atmosphere for the session. Following this, Mr. Ameen Farook, the NSS Programme Officer, delivered the Welcome Address. He greeted the guests and participants, highlighting the importance of such workshops in shaping responsible future educators and citizens.
The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. Noufal P., Principal of Maunathul Islam Training College. In his speech, he emphasized the institution’s commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive environment. He spoke about the relevance of legal literacy in modern society and how understanding the POCSO Act is essential for anyone working in the education sector.
The core of the workshop was led by the main trainer, S. Sreelekshmi, with Abhishek Jayakumar serving as the co-host. The session was divided into four comprehensive modules:

  • POCSO Act, 2012: An in-depth look at the legal protections for children.
  • Gender Equality: Discussing the importance of breaking stereotypes.
  • Consent: Understanding the nuances of personal boundaries.
  • Resolution Mechanism: Exploring the steps to take when reporting violations.
    The workshop concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Hadiya. She expressed gratitude to the trainers for their valuable insights, the college administration for organizing the event, and the participants for their active engagement. The session ended with the collective resolution that “Together, we can make a difference,” and participants were informed about the process to access their Rakshin certificates.
