The First Year B.Ed. students of M.I. Training College, Ponnani, under the auspices of NSS Unit No. 344 organized a musical tribute titled Ye Duniya Ye Mehfil – A Musical Tribute to the Legendary Mohammed Rafi” on 31 July 2026 (Friday) at the College Auditorium, commemorating the 46th death anniversary of the legendary playback singer Mohammed Rafi.

The programme commenced with a prayer by Nihla, Aneesha, Jyothika, and Shalima, followed by a welcome speech delivered by Navya Bhaval. The programme was presided over by Ameen Farook U.K., Assistant Professor and NSS Programme Officer. The event was formally inaugurated by Mr. Abdul Samad, M.I. Sabha Secretary. A felicitation address was delivered by Mr. Fayis P.S, Assistant Professor, who appreciated the efforts of the student organizers and highlighted Mohammed Rafi’s immense contribution to Indian music.

The highlight of the programme was the musical tribute, in which twelve singers performed 46 evergreen songs of Mohammed Rafi. The audience thoroughly enjoyed the soulful renditions, making the event a memorable celebration of the legendary singer’s timeless melodies. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Isana Farook, expressing gratitude to all the dignitaries, performers, organizers, and audience for making the event a grand success.The programme successfully honoured the musical legacy of Mohammed Rafi and provided a platform to celebrate his everlasting contribution to Indian cinema and music.
