On March 28, 2026, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit 344 of MI Training College, Ponnani, launched a significant social welfare project titled “Threads of Hope: Dress Bank Initiative.” The program, held under the banner “A Small Effort, A Big Social Impact,” began at 10:00 AM with a prayer led by Fathima Nasrin P.V. and Ayisha Nusreen. NSS Programme Officer Ameen Farooq delivered the welcome address, marking the start of an event centered on fostering social responsibility among the student community.

​The project was officially inaugurated by Muhammed Noufal A., the Malappuram District Coordinator of NSS, University of Calicut, who presided over the function. In his inaugural speech, Mr. Noufal emphasized the vital importance of developing compassion and social commitment among students. He noted that such initiatives play a transformative role in building social awareness and character. The “Dress Bank” specifically aims to provide clothing support to economically disadvantaged people by collecting usable garments and distributing them to those in need.

​During the felicitation ceremony, Assistant Professor Faiz P.S. extended his greetings and support for the mission. College authorities highlighted that the project is a major step forward in the institution’s social service activities. The event saw active participation from the Principal, teachers, and a dedicated group of NSS volunteers. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Muhsina, a first-year student, marking the successful commencement of this noteworthy humanitarian effort.
