On 28-03-2026, the NSS Unit of MI Training College organized an insightful orientation program for its volunteers, featuring Mr. Noufal, the Malappuram District Coordinator for the University of Calicut, as the keynote speaker. The session commenced with a warm welcome to the guest, who brought with him a wealth of experience in grassroots social work and student leadership.

Mr. Noufal began the session by deconstructing the NSS motto, “Not Me, But You,” explaining that true education is incomplete without a sense of social commitment. He emphasized that being an NSS volunteer under the University of Calicut is not merely about fulfilling hours for a certificate, but about developing a personality through community service. He urged the students of MI Training College to use their unique position as future educators to bridge the gap between the academic world and the marginalized sections of society.

Throughout the discourse, he highlighted various district-level initiatives, including environmental conservation, blood donation drives, and health awareness campaigns specifically relevant to the Malappuram region. He shared several success stories from other units under the university to inspire the volunteers, showing how small, local actions can lead to significant social shifts. He also provided practical guidance on how to document activities and maintain the discipline required for the successful completion of the NSS tenure.

The program was highly interactive, with Mr. Noufal answering queries regarding project implementation and the long-term benefits of the scheme. The session concluded on a high note, leaving the volunteers motivated and equipped with a clear roadmap for their future service activities. The event ended with a vote of thanks, acknowledging Mr. Noufal’s valuable time and his contribution to strengthening the spirit of volunteerism within the college.
