A SMALL EFFORT, A BIG SOCIAL IMPACT
Malappuram: The ‘Dress Bank’ initiative was inaugurated on March 28, 2026, under the leadership of National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit 344 at MI Training College, Ponnani. College authorities stated that the project was launched as part of fostering social responsibility among students.
The program began at 10:00 AM with a prayer led by Fathima Nasrin P.V. and Ayisha Nusreen. NSS Programme Officer Ameen Farooq delivered the welcome address, and the function was presided over by Muhammed Noufal A, District Coordinator of NSS, University of Calicut, officially inaugurated the project. In his inaugural speech, he emphasized the importance of developing compassion and social commitment among students.
As part of the felicitation, Faiz P.S., Assistant Professor, extended his greetings. The ‘Dress Bank’ aims to provide clothing support to economically disadvantaged people by collecting usable clothes and distributing them to those in need. This initiative marks a significant step in social service activities.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Muhsina, a first-year student. The Principal, teachers, and NSS volunteers attended the function. The event became noteworthy with the active participation of students.
Authorities also pointed out that such initiatives, aimed at social welfare, play an important role in developing social awareness among students.
