The first year B. Ed students of M.I. Training College, Ponnani, organized the National Handloom Day Celebration on 7th August 2026 at the College Seminar Hall to commemorate the launch of historic Swadeshi Movement and honoring the handloom weaving community, highlights the sector’s role in socio-economic growth.
The program commenced with a prayer sung by Aneesha M, Fairusa M and Shalima Farhath KM, followed the pledge by Shafna.The News reading was done by Ajisha V. The Thought of the Day, and Holy Thought was presented by Sainabi KV and Shahima C respectively. The session was anchored by Amina .
As part of the celebration, a video presentation held about a handloom sector in Kannur, Kerala. An exploration of handloom traditions of different Indian states was performed by Aneesha M. The session was engaging and enriched the students’ understanding about our nation’s handloom traditions.
