Grievance Redressal Mechanism

The Grievance Redressal Cell (GRC) addresses academic and non-academic grievances of students, aiming to resolve them within a stipulated time. Students can register grievances in writing, online, or anonymously via the suggestion box. Each grievance is promptly reviewed and acted upon as per its merit.

Mechanism of GRC

  • The GRC considers individual grievances of a specific nature from students or staff.
  • General or collective grievances raised by multiple individuals are not within its purview.
  • Upon receiving a complaint, the committee determines its merit and initiates further investigation or discussion as needed.
  • The GRC may mediate between the complainant and the respondent if required.
  • Grievances are resolved within a reasonable timeframe, and reports are submitted to higher authorities for guidance if necessary.

Scope

Students may lodge grievances regarding:

  1. Academic matters, such as the timely issuance of duplicate mark-sheets, Transfer Certificates, Conduct Certificates, or scholarship-related concerns.
  2. Financial issues, such as dues and payments related to the library, hostels, or other institutional facilities.
  3. Non-academic concerns, including sanitation, food quality, transportation, or unfair treatment by staff.

Procedure for Lodging a Complaint

  1. Grievances can be submitted through the online mechanism using the link below:
    MITC Complaint Form
  2. Students may also drop written grievances (anonymously if needed) into the grievance/suggestion box available on campus.
  3. Complaints must be accompanied by relevant documents, if applicable, to facilitate prompt action by the Grievance Cell.

Additional Support

  1. Anti-Ragging Committee: Under the Principal’s leadership, this committee ensures compliance with the directives of the Supreme Court of India and UGC. No ragging cases have been reported at MITC due to the institution’s proactive measures, including awareness campaigns and co-curricular activities promoting positive interactions. Students are required to sign an anti-ragging affidavit at the time of admission.
  2. Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) (formerly Anti-Sexual Harrassment Cell): This committee, part of the Women’s Cell, addresses issues related to gender-based violence and ensures a safe environment for all.
  3. Other Committees: Issues related to academics, practice teaching, hostels, and transportation are managed by respective committees to provide timely resolutions.

MITC remains committed to fostering a fair, inclusive, and supportive environment for all its students.
