The Emergency Management Cell (EMC) at MITC serves as a dedicated task force comprising trained volunteers from both staff and students. The EMC is committed to effectively handling emergencies on campus and in its vicinity, guided by the motto “Trained and Trusted.”

Objectives of the EMC

  1. Emergency Intervention: To respond promptly and efficiently to emergencies in and around the campus.
  2. Training and Preparedness: To equip its members with the necessary skills through specialized training programmes.
  3. Safety Promotion: To create a culture of preparedness and awareness among all stakeholders in the institution.

Activities of the EMC

  1. Conducting emergency drills and mock exercises to enhance preparedness.
  2. Organizing training sessions on first aid, fire safety, disaster management, and other related skills.
  3. Coordinating with external agencies such as the police, fire department, and medical services when required.
  4. Providing immediate assistance during unforeseen incidents like medical emergencies, accidents, or natural disasters.

Membership

The EMC consists of:

  • Selected Volunteers: Staff and students who demonstrate commitment and capability.
  • Training: Members are regularly trained to handle various emergency scenarios.

The EMC is a testament to MITC’s dedication to creating a safe and secure learning environment, ensuring the well-being of all its stakeholders through readiness and proactive measures.
