Objective:The objective of the program “Flowers and Feathers” was to bring together paralyzed differently abled children and bedridden children to provide them with an enjoyable and inclusive experience. The program aimed to create a supportive environment for these children and provide them with necessarymedical assistance.

Introduction:The program “Flowers and Feathers” was organized by the Educational Department of Kerala and Samagra Shiksha, Kerala, in collaboration with URC Ponnani and MI Training College. The event took place on 8th November 2023 at MI Training College in Puthuponnani. The program was designed to cater to the unique needs of paralyzed differently abled children and bedridden children.

Program Highlights:The program offered a range of activities and services to ensure a fulfilling and enjoyable experience for the children.

The highlights of the program were as follows:

1. Inauguration: The program commenced with an inauguration ceremony. Bindhu Sidharthan, the Vice Chairperson of Ponnani Municipality, inaugurated the event, symbolizing the support and encouragement from the local community.

2. Felicitation: Rajeesh Ooppala, Chairman of the Welfare Standing Committee, felicitated the organizers and participants, acknowledging their efforts in organizing the program.

3. Cultural Programs: The program featured various cultural performances by the children. These performances showcased the talents and abilities of the paralyzed differently abled children and bedridden children. The cultural programs were conducted under the guidance of Millora Diamonds, ensuring a vibrant and entertaining atmosphere.

4. Music Program: A dedicated music program was organized for the children. This activity provided them with an opportunity to explore their musical interests and engage in a therapeutic form of expression.

5. Distribution of Blankets: To ensure the comfort and well-being of the children, blankets were distributed to each participant. The distribution aimed to provide warmth and support to the children, especially during the colder months.

6. Medical Camp: A medical camp was set up under the supervision of Benzy Clinic and Ahalya Eye Clinic. The children received necessary medical check-ups and consultations, ensuring their health needs were addressed.

7. Snacks: The children were provided with snacks sponsored by Chitha Library, Puthuponnani. These snacks served as a treat for the children, giving them a refreshing break during the program.

Conclusion:The program “Flowers and Feathers” was a resounding success, providing paralyzed differently abled children and bedridden children with a memorable and uplifting experience. The collaboration between the Educational Department of Kerala, Samagra Shiksha, URC Ponnani, and MI Training College showcased the commitment to inclusivity and support for these children.

The cultural programs, music program, distribution of blankets, medical camp, and snacks all contributed to creating a positive and nurturing environment for the children. The event emphasized their talents, abilities, and well-being.
