THURSDAY
World Environment Day, celebrated globally on June 5, the Natural Club of MI Training College, Ponnani, in collaboration with NSS Unit No. 344, organized Green Celebration 2K25. The event was designed to spread awareness about environmental conservation and to inspire students to adopt eco-friendly habits in their daily lives. With the powerful theme โSmall Steps. Big Impact โ Save the Environmentโ, the celebration aimed to promote the idea that even small efforts can contribute greatly to the protection of nature.
The day began with an energetic flash mob performed by students, capturing attention and setting an enthusiastic tone for the programme. The official inauguration followed, where the Principal was warmly presented with a plant by Dr. Silva, the Natural Club convenor, along with the Natural Club members. This symbolic gesture marked the formal beginning of the celebration and reflected the core idea of nurturing and protecting nature.

The morning assembly then proceeded with a soulful prayer led by Navya, Anagha C.P., and Hasna Jasmin, followed by the regular pledge recited by Adheela, reinforcing unity and discipline. Henna presented the news of the day, while Safuwa shared the thought of the day, inspiring students to reflect on their role in safeguarding the environment. A holy thought delivered by Fathima added a spiritual touch to the message of environmental care.
Hanan addressed the gathering with the speciality of the day, highlighting the significance of Environment Day and the relevance of the activities planned. One of the most engaging events was the quiz competition, conducted by Shilna, which tested participantsโ knowledge of environmental issues in a lively and interactive manner.
The event was visually enriched by a beautiful poster designed by Thashmeera, which creatively conveyed the message of environmental responsibility. Other exciting programmes included a footnote competition, digital collage, and a plantation drive. The competitions encouraged students to think deeply and express creatively about environmental issues, while the plantation activity allowed them to take real, impactful action by planting saplings on campus.
Overall, the Green Celebration 2K25 was a successful and inspiring event. It not only celebrated World Environment Day meaningfully but also instilled in students a deep sense of responsibility toward the environment. The Natural Club and NSS Unit No. 344 deserve great appreciation for organizing a well-rounded and purposeful programme that blended awareness, creativity, and action.
