The Social Science Department of MI Training College, Ponnani, organized a special morning assembly in observance of United Nations Day with the theme “Promoting Peace, Unity, and Global Partnerships.” The program aimed to foster awareness about the importance of international cooperation, peace, and unity among all nations.
Under the guidance of Mrs. Shaheena, the teacher in charge, the event was well-coordinated and inspiring. The assembly was anchored effectively by Archana U. V, who led the program with confidence and enthusiasm. The session began with a melodious prayer by NajaJasmin, Fidha, and Ramseena , invoking blessings of peace and harmony, followed by the pledge led by Sajeena, encouraging a sense of duty and unity.
The holy thought was shared by Safvana, reminding everyone of the values of kindness, peace, and togetherness. Jasina presented the news, updating everyone on current global and national happenings.
As part of the United Nations Day celebration, the department conducted two meaningful activities to mark the occasion. A human chain was organized with the slogan “Hand in hand we stand for peace,” symbolizing unity, solidarity, and global friendship. In addition, a Peace Tree activity was held, during which participants wrote heartfelt messages and wishes for peace on colorful sticky notes and attached them to the tree, creating a vibrant and inspiring symbol of harmony and hope.
The assembly concluded with a motivational address by Mrs. Shaheena, who appreciated the efforts of all and emphasized the importance of nurturing peace, unity, and cooperation in daily life.
Overall, the celebration was lively, meaningful, and successful in spreading the true spirit of United Nations Day — promoting peace, unity, and global partnerships.
