The Science Club of MI Training College, Ponnani, organized the National Science Day Celebration on 2nd March 2026 at the College Auditorium. The programme was conducted under the theme “Women in Science: Catalysing Viksit Bharat.” The event aimed to highlight the contributions of women in science and to inspire students to actively participate in scientific innovation and research for the development of the nation.
The programme commenced at 1:30 PM with a prayer led by Arifa K and Aslaha K V, invoking blessings for the success of the event. The welcome speech was delivered by Shahina Sherin P, Coordinator of the Science Day Celebration, who warmly welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members, and students. In her address, she emphasized the importance of scientific temper and the role of women in shaping a progressive India.The Presidential Address was delivered by Jaseeba Bava, President of the Science Club. She spoke about the significance of National Science Day and encouraged students to develop curiosity and innovative thinking.
The Principal’s Address was delivered by Dr. Noufal P, Principal of MI Training College, Ponnani. He highlighted the importance of science education in nation-building and appreciated the Science Club for organizing such a meaningful event.The programme was officially inaugurated by Ms. Safana Cheriyakathi, IIIrd Year BSc Geology student of MES Ponnani College and a participant at the Istanbul International Model United Nations Conference, Turkey. She also delivered the Keynote Address, where she spoke about the opportunities and challenges faced by women in scientific fields and motivated students to pursue excellence in science and research.

A special segment of the programme included the Name Revealing Ceremony of the Science Club”SCINOVA”, which added excitement and enthusiasm among the students.
The felicitation speeches were delivered by Mr. Fayis P S, Assistant Professor, MITC Ponnani, and Mrs. Soofiya Mol A S, General Secretary, Sarga College Union. They appreciated the efforts of the organizers and encouraged students to actively engage in scientific activities.The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Mrs. Maneesha Manoharan K, Assistant Professor in Physical Science, MITC Ponnani. She expressed sincere gratitude to all the dignitaries, participants, and organizers who contributed to the success of the event.

Following the formal function, a Science Expo was conducted from 2:00 PM onwards, where students showcased innovative projects and scientific models. The expo provided a platform for creativity, teamwork, and practical learning.The National Science Day Celebration 2026 was a grand success, fostering scientific awareness and inspiring students, especially young women, to contribute towards building a developed and scientifically empowered India.
