The Staff Tour to Ernakulam was organized on 14th February 2026 as part of the institutional initiative to promote staff welfare, team building, and professional bonding. The tour commenced at 6:00 AM from MITC Ponnani.
The first halt was at Hotel Karthik Bhavan, Chettuva, where the staff had breakfast. The team then proceeded towards Ernakulam and enjoyed the Jankar Boat Ride, experiencing the scenic beauty of the backwaters.
The group visited Fort Kochi side, including Mattancherry and Jews Street, where staff members explored the historical and cultural heritage of the region. The Water Metro experience from Kochi Water Metro (High Court side) was a unique and memorable part of the journey, providing exposure to the modern water transport system.
The staff later visited Marine Drive, Kochi, and spent leisure time enjoying the waterfront view. After lunch, the group experienced a Metro ride from Maharajas College to Edappally. The visit to Lulu Mall, Kochi, provided time for shopping and recreation.
The tour concluded with the return journey to MITC Ponnani in the evening.
The programme was successfully coordinated, and all arrangements were carried out smoothly. The Principal appreciated the efforts of the coordinator for the effective organization of the tour. The staff tour strengthened collegial relationships, enhanced team spirit, and provided a refreshing break from routine academic responsibilities.
