The 44th episode of the Literary Lens review programme, organized by the Literary Club of MI Training College, was held on 11th April 2025 at 7:30 PM. The session featured a compelling review by Fathima Beegum V, who presented an in-depth analysis of the classic Malayalam novel Nalukettu, written by the legendary author M.T. Vasudevan Nair.
Fathima Beegum delved into the emotional and cultural depths of the novel, which portrays the journey of Appunni, a young boy growing up amidst the decline of the matrilineal joint family system in Kerala. She effectively highlighted the socio-cultural transformations depicted in the book and explored the protagonist’s struggles with identity, family, and tradition.
The session witnessed active participation and thoughtful reflections from the audience, adding further depth to the discussion. It was a meaningful exploration of one of Malayalam literature’s most significant works, offering both nostalgic and critical perspectives.
