The District Legal Services Authority, Manjeri, and the Ponnani Taluk Legal Services Authority, under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority, jointly organized an anti-ragging awareness class and discussion titled “Safe Campus” at MI Training College, Ponnani.

Advocate Jabbar K.P., who delivered the keynote address, pointed out that in ragging cases, the accused often use money and influence to pressure teachers and victims, allowing them to escape punishment. He emphasized that it is the responsibility of teachers and institution authorities to stand firm against such influences and ensure justice for the victims.

College Principal Dr. Naseerali M.K., who led the discussion, highlighted that our campus is a zero-ragging campus, where senior students proudly welcomed the new batch with dances and other art forms. However, it is still essential to understand the legal responsibilities that teachers, mentors, heads of departments, and institutional leaders have in such situations. This session was arranged to educate prospective teachers at the college on these legal formalities, the Principal added.

Dr. Ramitha Rahman, Rabah Rakib, Sumayya C., Nadeera, and Bhavana Bhagyanath also spoke at the event.
