MI Training College, Ponnani, organized a musical tribute programme titled “Ye Duniya Ye Mehfil” on 31st July 2025 in memory of the legendary playback singer Mohammad Rafi, one of the greatest voices in Indian cinema. The event created an atmosphere of nostalgia and reverence as students, teachers, and invited guests gathered to honour his legacy.
The programme was inaugurated by Principal Dr. Naseerali M.K., who, in his inaugural address, highlighted the golden era of Indian music and the timeless contributions of Mohammad Rafi. He reminded the gathering that Rafi’s songs not only entertained millions but also carried deep emotions and values that remain relevant even today.
Following the inauguration, various singers from Ponnani came forward to present popular and melodious songs of Rafi. Their heartfelt performances touched the audience and brought alive the memories of Rafi’s versatile singing style. From soulful ghazals to energetic film songs, the renditions showcased the wide range of the maestro’s musical genius.
The programme also provided a platform for local talents to express their admiration for the singer while promoting cultural appreciation among the student community. Teachers and students equally enjoyed the musical evening, making it both an entertaining and enlightening experience.
