As part of the observance of Mosquito Awareness Day, an awareness class was organized at MI Training College on 20th August 2025 in collaboration with NSS Unit 344.
The session was led by Prakashan K.V., Field Assistant, District Vector Control Unit, Malappuram, who highlighted the dangers posed by mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue, malaria, and chikungunya. He explained the life cycle of mosquitoes, the role of stagnant water in breeding, and the simple preventive measures that individuals and communities can adopt to control their spread.
The interactive class helped students gain practical insights into maintaining a clean environment and understanding the importance of community participation in vector control activities. The programme also encouraged the students to take up the role of health ambassadors by spreading awareness in their own localities.
The session proved to be highly informative and aligned with the NSS motto of “Not Me But You,” by fostering social responsibility and collective action for public health.
