The Reading Day Celebration at MI Training College, Ponnani was held with great enthusiasm, jointly organized by the Literary Club and the NSS Unit. The event aimed to encourage reading habits among students and celebrate the joy of reading.
The programme began with a warm welcome address by Asna Sherin from the English Department. This was followed by the presidential address delivered by our respected Principal, Nasserali M K, who spoke about the enduring power of books and the importance of nurturing a reading culture in academic life.

A special honouring session was conducted to recognize the contributions of two individuals:
- Muhammed Abdurahman, the dedicated librarian of MITC, was honoured for his long and valuable service to the institution.
- Thoufira, a first-year Physical Science student, was felicitated for receiving the Best Library User Award from MES Ponnani College.


The event also featured a session where students shared their personal reading experiences, inspiring peers with reflections on how books have influenced their lives.
Following this, a Reading Competition was conducted, and the winners were:
- 🥇 First Prize: Navya C
- 🥈 Second Prize: Hudha Mujeeb
- 🥉 Third Prize: Fabitha Mohammed
A Quiz Competition added to the excitement of the day, with the following winners:
- 🥇 First Prize: Shany
- 🥈 Second Prize: Suadha P
- 🥉 Third Prize: Adheela M V and Shamila K P
The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Fathimma Shameema, Student Convenor of the Literary Club, who expressed gratitude to all guests, participants, and organizers for their active involvement and support.
