Programme Report: District-level campaign activities of the Local Self-Government Department have started at Nilayora Tourism Path in Ponnani Municipality, which is organizing remarkable activities in the district with the view of garbage disposal and tourism development possibilities. A campaign started in the city as part of the activities Pattu Vandi and the Municipal Corporation Chairman, shri Shivdas Atupura flagged off the same. Sheena Sudesan, Chairperson of the Health Stewardship Committee presided the session. Shaju, District Assistant Director, Local Self-Government Department, Municipal Secretary Sajirun, Clean City Manager Dilip Kumar and CDS President Dhanya spoke on this. Public Health Inspector Rafiq welcomed and Public Health Inspector Rajan gave vote of thanks. The municipal chairman flagged off the youth rally which started from the harbor area in the afternoon. Sheena Sudesan, Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Health LSGD District Assistant Director Shaju, Municipality leaded the youth rally from Harbour to child-friendly Puzhamutum Park area. The Chairman then recited the Cleanliness Pledge. Hundreds of youths, students, tourists, municipal employees, Malappuram district LSGD office employees, Harita Karmasena members etc, were the links in the human chain made on Nilayora tourism path. On the second day, February 22, the Jalayatra of the people’s representatives will take place. Then dance, sing and have fun from 5 pm onwards. Harithotsavam art programs will be held. On the third day, February 23, Sunday, from 3 p.m., seminars on various topics, will be conducted by Kalabhavan Ashraf, Aban, and Kudumbashree activists. Cultural programs such as Chavittukali, Tiruvathirakali, Nadan Patt etc which are performed by local artistes will be staged. Municipal Corporation Chairman Sivadas Atupuram has requested the participation and cooperation of all people’s representatives, locals, tourists, officials, pension car and Kudumbashree workers in the Nilayoram tourism destination where the district level popular campaign is taking place. MES College, MI B Ed College Students, Scholar College Students were participated. Flash Mob and Mime were featured. Chairman Sivadas Atupuram presented gifts to all the participating schools. Chairman Shivdas Atupuram requested the participation and cooperation of all the locals in the program.
