An Awareness programme on palliative care was conducted under the NSS Unit 344 in the morning assembly, to educate students about its significance in improving the quality of life for individuals with serious illness. Palliative care focuses on holistic support, addressing physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. The session highlighted its importance in alleviating suffering, providing dignity, and offering support to patients and their families. Key concepts like patient-centered care, interdisciplinary roles, and continuity of care were explained. Students also learned about challenges like lack of awareness, stigma, and resource limitations. The awareness campaign emphasized the role of the community and inspired students to actively contribute to compassionate care initiatives, fostering empathy and social responsibility.
