M.I. Training College, Ponnani, organized a virtual event via Google Meet to observe International Literacy Day under the overarching theme, “Literacy for a more inclusive and sustainable world.” The initiative was jointly hosted by NSS Unit No: 344 and the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) to explore modern linguistic trends while emphasizing inclusive educational practices.

​The programme commenced with a prayer rendered by Nihla and Jyothika, setting a solemn tone for the session. Following this, Jafla A delivered the welcome address, warmly greeting the faculty members, participants, and students in attendance.

​The event was officially inaugurated by Principal Dr. Noufal P, who delivered an insightful address emphasizing the expanding scope and definition of literacy in today’s digital era.

​Highlighting the main theme of the evening, 50 First-year B.Ed students led the “Gen Z Word Presentation,” introducing contemporary youth slang and analyzing how digital culture shapes modern communication. Parallel to this, the event featured a dedicated segment presenting an audiobook created for visually challenged individuals, showcasing a commitment to accessible learning.

Towards the conclusion, a structured feedback session was conducted with key contributions from Sainabi K V, Najmath C K, Sana P A, and Shifana Sherin, who reflected on the relevance and execution of the activities. The programme officially wrapped up with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Aneesha M, expressing gratitude to the college management, organizers, and all participating students.
