The One Day Workshop on Trauma Care was organized by NSS Unit 344 of MI Training College, Ponnani, on 17 February 2026 from 10.00 AM to 2.00 PM. The programme aimed to create awareness about emergency response and first aid management in traumatic situations. With the theme “Be the Help Before Help Arrives,” the workshop focused on equipping participants with basic life-saving skills that can be applied during accidents and other emergency conditions before professional medical assistance reaches the spot.
The workshop was handled by experienced trainers including Shameer Ali P, First Aid Trainer from Malappuram District Trauma Care; Dr. Hasnath Hamza, BAMS, Ayurvedic Physician and BLS Trainer (MDTC); Siyad Thiruthiyad, BLS Trainer, Malappuram District Trauma Care; and Nasar Ahmed C.K, Health Inspector and Trauma Care Trainer, Malappuram. The resource persons provided both theoretical knowledge and practical demonstrations on Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR techniques, bleeding control, fracture management, and emergency response procedures.
The programme was highly interactive and practical-oriented. Participants were given opportunities to practice CPR and other first aid techniques under expert supervision. The workshop enhanced the confidence of the trainees and prepared them to respond effectively during real-life emergencies. Overall, the programme was informative, skill-based, and socially relevant, contributing to the development of responsible and service-minded future teachers.
