The Literary Club of MI Training College, Ponnani conducted Episode 58 of its book review series “Literary Lens” on 18th July 2024. The book discussed in this session was Nooru Simhasangal, a well-known Malayalam novel. The review was presented by Amjidha Jasmin, a B.Ed. English optional student of the 2024–26 batch.
Amjidha began the session by introducing the novel and its author. She explained that Nooru Simhasangal is a powerful novel that speaks about the struggles and strength of women in society. Through the story, the author shows how women face challenges but still rise with courage, like sitting on “a hundred thrones”—as the title suggests.
In her review, Amjidha highlighted the main characters and important events in the book. She explained how the author brings out the emotions, dreams, and pain of women through strong storytelling. The novel not only tells personal stories but also reflects social realities.
Amjidha also talked about the writing style of the author, saying that it is simple but deeply moving. She shared some touching parts from the book and explained their meanings in a way that was easy for everyone to understand. Her presentation helped the listeners connect with the book and its message.
The session ended with a short discussion, where students shared their thoughts and reflections. Everyone appreciated Amjidha’s clear and confident presentation. The Literary Club thanked her for selecting a meaningful book and encouraged more students to participate in future episodes of Literary Lens.
