A One Day Workshop on “Revised Assessment Structure and Implementation in the Context of Kerala School Curriculum Change (SCERT)” was organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), MI Training College, Ponnani on 18th February 2026 at 10.00 AM in the Seminar Hall.

The programme commenced with a prayer by the College Choir. The Welcome Speech was delivered by Dr. Ramitha Rahman P. A., IQAC Co-ordinator, MITC Ponnani. The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. Noufal P., Principal, MITC

The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Jayaprakash R. K., Director, SCERT Kerala, who delivered the inaugural address highlighting the significance of the revised assessment structure and its relevance in the ongoing curriculum reforms in Kerala. He emphasized the need for teacher educators to adapt to competency-based and outcome-oriented assessment practices.

Felicitations were offered by A. M. Abdusamad, Secretary, MIA, and Dr. Silva P., Assistant Professor, MITC.

The technical session was led by Dr. K. S. Sajan, Assistant Professor, NSS Training College, Ottapalam. He provided a comprehensive orientation on the revised assessment framework, practical implementation strategies, and the new format of the achievement test. The session was highly interactive and enabled participants to clarify their doubts regarding the implementation process in schools and teacher education institutions

The workshop witnessed active participation from 20 teacher educators from various training colleges along with faculty members and 50 students of MI Training College, Ponnani. The programme facilitated meaningful academic discussion and professional enrichment among teacher educators and prospective teachers.

The workshop concluded with positive feedback from participants, who appreciated the clarity and practical orientation of the sessions. Certificates were distributed to the participants. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Mr. Fayis P. S., Assistant Professor, MITC.
