The Social Science Department of MITC Ponnani organized a special morning assembly on 23rd September to observe the International Day of Sign Languages. The programme aimed to create awareness about the importance of sign language as a means of communication and inclusion for the hearing-impaired community.
The assembly began with a prayer led by Naja, Fidha, and Nandhana, setting a serene and respectful atmosphere. This was followed by the pledge, administered by Archana, reminding everyone of their duties and responsibilities.
News of the day was presented by Nidha, who updated the audience with current affairs. Safvana then shared an inspiring thought for the day, encouraging positivity and understanding among students. A holy thought was delivered by Najma, emphasizing compassion and equality.
The programme was smoothly conducted by the anchor, Thasniya, who kept the audience engaged throughout the event. The assembly was guided under the supervision of Shaheena, from the Social Science Department.
Overall, the event successfully highlighted the importance of sign languages in promoting inclusivity and respect for diversity.
