The sixty-sixth episode of the Literary Lens review series, organized by the Literary Club of MI Training College, Ponnani, was held on 19th September 2025 at 7:30 PM via Google Meet. The Literary Lens programme continues to serve as an innovative platform for student teachers to explore literary and cinematic works, fostering analytical thinking and creative appreciation.
In this episode, Abana Amrutha K, a B.Ed. student of the 2024–2026 batch, presented a review of the movie “Big World.” The reviewer provided an engaging analysis of the film’s storyline, cinematic techniques, and thematic concerns. Abana highlighted how Big World captures the intricacies of human emotions, social realities, and the universal quest for meaning in life.
Her presentation emphasized the film’s realistic portrayal of relationships, struggles, and moral dilemmas, along with its artistic direction and impactful performances. The session also explored how movies like Big World serve as a reflection of society and contribute to value-based learning.
Following the presentation, participants shared their perspectives and interpretations, leading to an enriching discussion on the role of cinema in shaping human understanding and empathy.
The programme concluded with words of appreciation for Abana’s well-researched and thoughtful presentation. The Literary Lens – Episode 66 once again reaffirmed the Literary Club’s commitment to cultivating literary sensitivity, critical thinking, and a culture of meaningful dialogue among student teachers
