The Independence Day celebration at MI Training College, Ponnani was observed with great patriotism and enthusiasm. The programme began with the flag hoisting ceremony, performed by T.V. Abdurahiman, retired school teacher and historian.
Following this, Mr. Abdurahiman delivered the Independence Day message, recalling the sacrifices of the freedom fighters and highlighting the values of unity, peace, and responsibility in nation-building. He urged the students and teachers to uphold democratic ideals and contribute positively to society as responsible citizens and future educators.
The celebration continued with cultural programmes performed by students, which included patriotic songs that beautifully reflected the spirit of independence. A documentary on India’s freedom struggle was also screened, offering a visual reminder of the nation’s hard-earned liberty.
The programme instilled a spirit of patriotism among all present and concluded with the singing of the national anthem.
