As part of the Independence Day celebrations, the NSS Unit of MI Training College organised a Patriotic Dance Competition on 14th August in the college auditorium. The event aimed to instill patriotism among students, encourage artistic expression, and celebrate India’s rich cultural heritage through the medium of dance. Four teams participated in the event: AUP School Puduponnani, GUPS Cheruvayikkara, MIGHSS Puduponnani, and MIHSS Ponnani.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Ameen Farook U.K., NSS Coordinator of MITC, who extended a warm greeting to the dignitaries, participants, and audience.

This was followed by the Presidential Address by Dr. Naseerali M.K., Principal of MITC, who highlighted the significance of Independence Day and the role of cultural programmes in nurturing national pride among youth.

The event was inaugurated by A.M. Abdu Samad, Secretary of MIA, who praised the efforts of the NSS Unit for organising such a vibrant and meaningful competition.

Before the performances began, Mrs. Poushima V.P., Assistant Professor of Fine Arts, provided an orientation on the judging criteria, ensuring that participants were aware of how their performances would be evaluated.

The stage then came alive with colourful and energetic dance performances, each team showcasing their creativity, rhythm, and patriotic fervour through graceful movements, expressive storytelling, and traditional attire. The audience was captivated by the enthusiasm and talent of the performers.









After careful evaluation, the results were announced:
After a spirited display of patriotic performances, GUPS Cheruvayikkara won the First Prize, while AUPS Puduponnani secured the Second Prize.



The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ayisha Nusreen K, from the English Department.
