The second day of the Deeksharamb 2025 Student Induction Programme at MI Training College, Ponnani, was organized under the banner of Iqra – The Students’ Induction Programme. The day was designed to nurture the reading culture among the new entrants and encourage the habit of lifelong learning.
The session began with a welcome address by Dr. Silva P., who highlighted the significance of reading in shaping the academic and personal growth of teachers. The programme was formally inaugurated by T.V. Abdurahiman, retired school teacher and historian, who emphasized the role of books as companions and guides throughout one’s journey as a student and as an educator.

As part of the day’s activity, each student donated a book, symbolizing their contribution to the collective academic spirit of the institution. Following this, every student introduced themselves by sharing a meaningful line from a book, making the session both personal and inspiring. This activity created a lively atmosphere, connecting students with literature and with each other.

The day concluded on a reflective note, leaving the participants with a deeper appreciation of the value of reading and the importance of cultivating intellectual curiosity as future teachers.
