The NSS unit of M.I. Training College organized a Plastic Pen Waste Collection Drive at GHSS Vannery School as part of its environmental awareness initiative. The objective of this program was to reduce plastic waste, promote sustainable waste management practices, and educate students about the harmful effects of plastic pollution.ObjectiveTo collect and properly dispose of used plastic pens.Process of Implementation1. Awareness CampaignA brief awareness session was conducted for the students and staff at GHSS Vannery School.Volunteers explained the hazards of plastic waste and encouraged responsible disposal.2. Collection DriveDedicated collection bins were placed at various locations within the school premises.Students and teachers actively participated by depositing their used plastic pens into these bins.3. Segregation and DisposalThe collected pens were sorted and counted by NSS volunteers.The waste was then handed over to a local recycling unit.
