As part of its community service and environmental awareness initiatives, the NSS unit of M.I. Training College undertook a garden setting project at GHSS Vannery. The project aimed to enhance the school’s green cover, create a pleasant learning environment, and instill a love for nature among students.ObjectivesTo beautify the school campus by developing a well-maintained garden.To encourage student participation in nature conservation activities.Process of Implementation1. Planning and PreparationA team of NSS volunteers, along with school authorities, identified a suitable area for the garden.Necessary tools, plants, and gardening materials were arranged.2. Soil Preparation and PlantingThe land was cleared of debris, and the soil was tilled to make it suitable for planting.Volunteers planted a variety of flowers, shrubs, and medicinal plants to enhance biodiversity.3. Maintenance and AwarenessA watering schedule was established to ensure plant growth. Conclusion The garden setting project at GHSS Vannery was a great success, with active participation from NSS volunteers and students. This initiative not only enhanced the aesthetic value of the school but also promoted a sense of responsibility toward nature.
