The newly approved NSS unit at MI Training College, Ponnani, was inaugurated with an insightful address by Dr. R.N. Ansar, the State NSS Officer. He emphasized that NSS activities should not be considered an additional burden by teachers or students. Instead, he highlighted that real learning happens outside the confines of classrooms.

Dr. Ansar also remarked that B.Ed. college programs must adapt to contemporary changes and that integrating technological advancements into the educational process is crucial for empowering teacher trainees.

As part of the event, students handed over a fund raised through their efforts to Shanti Palliative Ponnani Unit representatives, R.V. Ashraf and Abu Salih, through the college principal.

The event featured a keynote speech by Dr. N.A. Shihab, NSS Program Coordinator at the University of Calicut. The session was presided over by Dr. Naseerali M.K., the Principal of MI Training College. NSS Assistant Program Officer Ameen Farooq U.K. extended a warm welcome to the gathering.

Congratulatory messages were conveyed by A.M. Abdu Samad, General Secretary of MI Association; Asnath Mansoor, Secretary of the College Alumni Association; Ashwathi T.S., Chairperson of the MITC Student Council; and U.U.C. Safuva. The unit’s Student Coordinator, Nandana M., delivered the vote of thanks.

The event commenced with a mesmerizing welcome dance performed by Subhadra Mohan P.T. and Nandana M., students from the 2023-2025 and 2024-2026 B.Ed. batches, respectively.
