The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and National Service Scheme (NSS) of MI Training College, Ponnani, in collaboration with the District Legal Service Committee, organized a Legal Awareness Programme on ‘Victim Rights Scheme’ to educate students and the community on the rights and support systems available for victims of harassment and violence.

Principal Dr. Naseerali M.K. inaugurated the event with introductory remarks, emphasizing the importance of legal awareness in ensuring justice and rehabilitation for victims. The key-note address was delivered by Adv. K.M. Sameer, Panel Lawyer of the Taluk Legal Service Committee, Ponnani. He highlighted that standing with victims of various forms of harassment is a social responsibility and stressed that rehabilitating them into normal life must be a joint effort between government agencies and society.

The session was further enriched by the insights of Legal Service Committee Secretary Rabah Rakkeeb, who discussed the legal mechanisms available for victim protection and rehabilitation. College Union Chairperson Aswathy T.S. and NSS Programme Officer Ameen Farook U.K. also addressed the gathering, underscoring the role of youth and educational institutions in promoting legal awareness and social justice.

The event saw active participation from students and faculty, reflecting a collective commitment to supporting victim rights and strengthening legal literacy. MI Training College continues its dedication to fostering an informed and socially responsible academic community through such initiatives.
