The Literary Lens Review Program, organized by the Literary Club of MITC, featured a detailed review of “Manuscript Found in Accra” by Paulo Coelho, presented by Khadeeja Nusha BEd student from 2022-2024 batch on 23rd August 2023. The session was conducted virtually through Google Meet, enabling broad participation.

Khadeeja Nusha provided an insightful exploration of Coelho’s work, highlighting its philosophical depth and the timeless wisdom encapsulated within the narrative. She began by introducing the background of the book, which is set in 1099, during the Crusades in Jerusalem. The reviewer emphasized the book’s structure, noting how it presents a series of reflections on life’s profound questions, as narrated by a mysterious character called the Copt.

Throughout her review, Nusha touched upon key themes such as fear, loss, love, and the nature of success. She pointed out how Coelho uses the setting of a besieged city to delve into existential inquiries, offering readers solace and guidance in the face of adversity. The reviewer appreciated Coelho’s poetic style and the simplicity with which complex ideas are conveyed, making the book accessible yet thought-provoking.

The session was interactive, with participants engaging in a lively discussion following the review. They shared their interpretations of the book and reflected on how Coelho’s teachings resonated with their own life experiences. The review was well-received, with attendees praising Nusha’s clear and articulate presentation.
