On the 14th of June 2024, the Literary Club organized an online book review program ‘Literary Lens’ featuring Jasmin Sulthana, a first-year Social Science student, as the resource person. The selected book for the review was “Nooru Simhasanagal’ written by Jayamohan .The online book review program commenced at 07:30 PM and was conducted via a virtual platform to accommodate participants from various locations. The aim of the event was to encourage literary discussions, promote reading culture, and provide insights into the chosen book. Jasmin Sulthana, a highly regarded first-year Social Science student, demonstrated a keen interest in literature and brought a unique perspective to the book review.

The chosen book for the review, “Nooru Simhasanagal’” captivated the audience with its rich narrative. “Nooru Simhasanangal” is a contemporary Tamil novel that explores themes of power, corruption, and human ambition within a political context. Jasmin Sulthana provided an in-depth analysis of the plot, and themes, offering attendees a comprehensive understanding of the book’s literary merits. While the novel is lauded for its thematic richness and character development, some readers may find the narrative dense due to its philosophical undertones. The intricate plot and the multitude of characters can also be challenging to follow at times. However, these aspects contribute to the novel’s depth and are appreciated by readers who enjoy complex and layered storytelling.
