The MI Training College celebrated India’s 77th Independence Day with great fervour and enthusiasm on the 15th of August 2023. The event was marked by a series of patriotic activities, speeches, cultural performances, and competitions, showcasing the spirit of freedom and unity among the students and faculty members.

The ceremony commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony at 9:00 am, presided over by the esteemed Principal, Smt. Ajitha Kumary S. Following the hoisting of the national flag, Principal Ajitha Kumary S delivered a stirring speech highlighting the significance of Independence Day and the values it represents.

The atmosphere resonated with patriotism as students presented a soul-stirring patriotic song, filling the auditorium with the spirit of freedom and unity. The cultural extravaganza continued with various performances that captivated the audience.

The cultural programmes were conducted in the college auditorium. Aswathy M and Ragina Razack led the proceedings with their impeccable anchoring, guiding the audience through the diverse array of activities. The highlight of the event was the patriotic song competition, featuring three groups of talented students who showcased their vocal prowess and passion for their country.

In addition to musical performances, a mesmerizing dance performance by Subadhara Mohan and her team enthralled the audience, depicting the rich cultural heritage of India

The spirit of competition was alive as students participated in various contests, including the National Anthem and Pledge competitions. Jasmin Sulthana emerged victorious in the National Anthem competition, while Regina clinched the top spot in the Pledge competition.

The quiz competition, a test of knowledge and quick thinking, saw Shabna K claiming the first prize, followed by Jasmin Sulthana in second place, and Husna P and Shabeeba Thesni S securing the third position.

Husna’s eloquent speech won her the first prize in the speech competition, where she eloquently articulated the significance of Independence Day and its relevance in contemporary times.

As a token of appreciation and celebration, delicious payasam was distributed among the students, symbolizing the sweet taste of freedom.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Fathima C expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to making the Independence Day celebrations a resounding success.

Overall, the Independence Day celebrations at MI Training College were a testament to the patriotic fervour and unity among the students and faculty, reaffirming their commitment to the ideals of freedom, equality, and progress.
