Overview

The vibrant and eagerly awaited arts fest, Kalopsia, at MI Training College was held on the 16th and 17th of May, 2022. The event was a grand celebration of talent, creativity, and cultural heritage, drawing participation from students across various disciplines.

Inauguration

Principal Ajitha Kumary gave the presidential address, setting the tone for the fest with her encouraging words. She emphasized the college’s commitment to supporting and promoting the arts, recognizing the hard work of students and faculty in organizing Kalopsia.

The fest was inaugurated by the renowned musician Thajudheen Ponnani, popularly known as Junior Ilayaraaja. His presence was a significant highlight, bringing a wave of excitement among the attendees. Thajudheen Ponnani, acclaimed for his contributions to music, delivered an inspiring speech that set the tone for the fest. He emphasized the importance of the arts in education and personal development, encouraging students to pursue their creative passions alongside academic endeavors.

Following the inauguration, PTA President Baby Vinodhini Teacher delivered a heartfelt felicitation speech. She praised the efforts of the organizers and participants, highlighting the importance of such events in fostering a well-rounded educational experience

Day 1 Highlights (16th May 2022)

  • Inaugural Ceremony: The inaugural function commenced with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony, followed by Thajudheen Ponnani’s address. The ceremony also featured performances by the college choir, which paid homage to classical and contemporary music.
  • Competitions: The first day saw a range of competitions including solo singing, Thiruvathira and group dance. The talent displayed was exceptional, reflecting the students’ dedication and hard work.

Day 2 Highlights (17th May 2022)

  • Cultural Performances: The second day was marked by vibrant cultural performances. Oppana, Mime, and folk music filled the day with energy and enthusiasm.
  • Literary Events: Events such as poetry recitation, Speech, took center stage, highlighting the literary talents of the students.
  • Award Ceremony: The fest concluded with an award ceremony recognizing the outstanding performers in various categories. Prizes were distributed by the principal and other dignitaries, celebrating the hard work and creativity of the participants.

Conclusion

Kalopsia was more than just an arts fest; it was a platform for students to showcase their multifaceted talents and explore new dimensions of creativity. The fest successfully fostered a spirit of camaraderie and artistic excellence, leaving an indelible mark on all participants and attendees.
